Abstract
Women are the most alluring creation of our almighty god. Maybe this is the reason, women suffer much agony and anguish just like a flowing stream of a river. It is the women, who lead thir families to a vibrant, glowing future, just the way a flowing river leads to eterinty, while making the entire land fertile for cultivation of crops and cereals. Yet they are forced to live their lives within the 'Lakshmana Rekha' that refers to a strict convention, never to be broken is mentioned in the religious text 'Ramayana'. From the very beginning of this creation, the convention is being followed. But, the 21st century have witnessed women who have undergone remarkable transformations to change themselves. In the recent times, women wearing veil (Ghomta) and vermilion (Sankhya-Sindoor) have stopped staying within closed doors and windows. The women of India are teaching themselves how to live and step out into the world of challenges. Women have shaken the conventional patriarchal societal norms by preaching the concept of 'Jorayu Sadhinata' in this new century.
