Abstract
India should make full use of its youth power to strengthen its core democratic principles and promote youth participation in politics and democracy. Youth is the future of the country as well as an important part of our country's development. The number of youth in India is more than other countries. About 65 percent of India's population is below 35 years of age. The entire focus of the government is on bringing development through the youth. According to him, the youth should contribute actively to the development of the country and not just remain a part of it. The objective of the National Youth Policy introduced by the government is to “recognize the capabilities of the youth and accordingly empower them by providing them opportunities and through this to give India its rightful place in the world. The paper tries to produce an analysis on participation of youth in election in India.
