Agriculture sector in Indian economy plays pivotal role for the growth and development of an economy. In India Agriculture sector at present provides livelihood to 65%to 70% of total population. The sector provides employment to 54.6% of country’s workforce and is the single largest private sector occupation. But it can be observed that its contribution in real GDP has fallen to 13.9% in 2013-14 which is a matter of great serious concern.
