Abstract
Sacred groves in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are vital cultural and ecological sanctuaries that play a significant role in the preservation of biodiversity and traditional practices. These groves are patches of forest preserved by local communities due to their religious significance, often associated with deities, or ancestors. The groves serve as reservoirs of native plant species and contribute to water conservation, climate regulation, and soil stabilization. Despite their importance, sacred groves in both states face threats from urbanization, deforestation, and changing cultural practices. Conservation efforts and community involvement, are essential to preserving these groves and the biodiversity they support.
