AbstractBackground: Disorders of the central nervous system resulting from head trauma, hemorrhage inside the cranium. The present study was conducted to evaluate role of CT in psychic patients.
Materials & Methods: Disorders of the central nervous system caused by internal bleeding and head injuries. The current study set out to evaluate CT's effectiveness in treating psychological disorders. The Present study was conducted at the Department of Psychiatry, Sree Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Osudu Agaram Village Villianur Commune, Kudapakkam, Villianur, Puducherry, India, from March 2017 February 2018.
Results: There were 34 female patients and 46 male patients out of 80. Dementia (12), mood disorders (12), schizophrenia (6), personality disorder (8), behavior disorder (7), and anxiety disorder (3) were among the psychic disorders with abnormal scans. Out of all the disorders, mood disorders had the most abnormal scans. Generalized brain atrophy (GBA) was the most frequent abnormal scan in patients with psychiatric disorders (26) and was followed by generalized brain atrophy and ischemia (7).
Conclusion: According to the authors, CT scans can help psychiatric patients. The CT scan's information aids in the diagnosis of brain lesions.
