Abstract
Emotional competence is a crucial aspect of adolescent development, influencing their social interactions, mental well-being, and academic success. This study explores the emotional competence of tribal and non-tribal adolescents, aiming to assess and compare their levels while identifying disparities and underlying factors. A sample of 400 adolescents, evenly divided into tribal and non-tribal groups, was analyzed using composite scores of emotional competences. The findings revealed significant differences between the groups, with non-tribal adolescents scoring higher on emotional competence metrics. The study highlights the influence of socio-cultural, educational, and environmental factors on emotional development, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions to enhance the emotional competence of tribal adolescents. These results contribute to the growing discourse on equity in adolescent development and the importance of inclusive practices.
