Abstract
The purpose of this research was to examine how body composition, emotional intelligence, and physiological traits relate to the performance of female 100m hurdlers in competition. The sample size consists of 23 hurdlers consisting of high-performing (n=8) and low-performing (n=15), who participated in the All-India inter-university event. To ascertain the link between body composition, emotional intelligence, and physiological traits and competition performance, the study utilized the product-moment coefficient of correlation method. It was found that only body fat percentage have shown a significant and positive relationship with competition performance among female 100m hurdlers. However, other variables such as body mass index, skeletal muscle mass, visceral fat, basal metabolic rate, emotional intelligence, vo2 max, vital capacity, pulse rate, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure have shown insignificant relationship with performance of female 100m hurdlers.
