Abstract
One of the prominent & vertical growing agrobased Industry spotted in Karnataka is the sugar Industry. We are very well aware that, consumption of sugar is increasing on everyday basis & so is the demand for sugar in the market. On the other hand, production of sugar is not that encouraging because sugarcane growers are facing lot of problems. Monetary benefits whatever is available to traders & factory owners are not available to growers. This makes growers to borrow funds from outside & fall out in debt burden trap. There are many incidents which forced growers to commit suicide & end up their precious lives. This study focuses on problems faced by sugarcane growers & how to come up with feasible solutions to reduce these problems.
