Abstract
The chief academic advisor's job is a complex one with many facets today. From the time students initially enroll throughout their college experience, and frequently far after graduation, advisors must continuously provide helpful outreach and engagement to address student interests, build academic objectives, and discover career possibilities toward success. Although meeting with students is at the top of the list of required responsibilities, advisors also need to balance their time between dealing with different data sets and systems, faculty, and chairs, as well as staying up to date on process and procedure changes. The aim of this article is to gather information about the understanding of academic advisors in major roles while dealing with students in career building.
