Abstract
Menstruation, a natural biological process experienced by nearly half of the global population, is often shrouded in stigma and silence. In the context of sports and physical education, menstrual health becomes a significant factor that influences the participation, performance, and psychological well-being of female athletes. Despite advancements in women’s sports, the challenges posed by menstruation both physiological and socio-cultural continue to limit opportunities and equitable access to physical activity. This essay explores the multifaceted impact of menstrual health on sports participation among women and girls, highlighting barriers, health implications, psychological aspects, and strategies for inclusivity and support.
