Abstract
Although massage is becoming more and more popular in amateur sports, it is a regular intervention in elite sports, and its evidence base has not been thoroughly examined.
Consequently, we conducted a comprehensive study and meta-analysis to investigate the impact of massage on metrics related to athletic performance and recuperation. Style and qualification, we looked through Cochrane, MEDLINE, and PubMed to find randomized studies that examined how manual massage affected athletic performance. performance and/or recuperation. The endpoints of strength, jump, sprint, endurance, flexibility, fatigue, and delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) were the subjects of independent meta- analyses. Outcomes: We found 30 relevant research with 1020 participants, the greatest investigation into massage effects. There was no indication that massage enhanced strength, jump, sprint, endurance, or tiredness measures. However, massage was linked to minor but statistically significant improvements in DOMS and flexibility. In summary While there is no proof that sports massage directly enhances performance, our research suggests that it may somewhat increase DOMS and flexibility. Our research assists in educating coaches and athletes about the advantages of massage therapy and helps them make decisions about using it during practice and competition.
