A study on teachers’ awareness towards new education policy 2020

Abstract
The New Education Policy (2020) Draft Act released from the Government of India. They gave two months for Teacher Educators, Principals, and Policymakers to submit their insight. The primary objective of the study was to find the Awareness on New Education Policy (2020) among the teaching community in Meerut District.
Methods: The investigator used the online survey method through google forms for the present study. Sample and Sampling: 100 (Hundred) teachers Meerut District were taken as sample where only 60 has responded on the online survey tool. The total sample was selected through a simple random sampling technique.
Tool: the tool used to test the National Education Policy 2020 was online survey through self-made questionnaire.
Analysis and Discussion: Approx 77% of teachers participated were either assistant professor, lecturer and assistant teachers, 18% of the respondent were not aware about the previous Education policy and 17% of teachers and faculty members even don't know the name of a chairman of drafting committee, 82% samples participated known's about the fundamental principles of NEP 2020. A good number (88%) of teaching faculties were found well aware about features of the NEP 2020 but 60% of sample was found confused about the purpose of the Nep2020, which is quite surprising, the new name of MHRD is renamed as Ministry of Education was only known by 66% respondents. New schooling structure was a very important features of NEP 2020, which was also known by 81% of the respondents, In this NEP2020 B.Ed will be 4 year integrated from 2030 and all educational institutions will be multidisciplinary by 2040, only 59% and 30% teachers are aware about the above fact respectively, while asking about 3600 degree multidimensional assessment methodology 35% respondent were found unaware about it. NPST will be natural body which will set professional standard for teachers, surprisingly 75% of the respondent samples didn't know about it. While asking about Academic Bank of credit only half of the teacher didn't know about it full form & purpose behind it. 80% of teachers know about the starting of vocational Education in schooling system from grade 8, even only 70% teacher know about name of the assessment centre. Conclusion: It is concluded that teachers are aware about the NEP2020 but those who have read this policy have superficial kind of knowledge about NEP 2020.
