AbstractBackground: The primary educators of a child are their parents, and the home serves as the initial institution assigned with this important responsibility. The home of a child is a fundamental social institution that influences their growth and development. For a young individual, their residence functions as an additional educational establishment. This research focused on secondary school students from Ranchi city.
Objective: To elucidate the differences in the influence of the home environment on male and female students.
Hypothesis: In the home environment, there will be no discernible distinction between male and female students.
Methods: The study employs a descriptive survey method to gather data.
Sample: One hundred high school students from various secondary schools in Ranchi city were surveyed for this research. Half of the students were male and half were female.
Instrument: Dr. Karuna Shankar Mishra (2012) developed Home Environment Inventory was used to collect data.
Statistical Techniques: Percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-ratio were computed.
Results: All of the data has been carefully reviewed in light of the study's aims and assumptions. Concerning the many facets of their home environment, neither the male nor the female pupils showed any discernible differences. Important consequences for parents, educators, and counselors are found in the research. In sum, the findings of this research give light on the importance of family life in shaping children's maturation. In order to foster their development, it provides helpful advice on how to create a nurturing environment.
