AbstractBackground: Anaemia is a condition in which the number of red blood cells or the amount of haemoglobin is low. Red blood cells contain haemoglobin protein that it enables them to carry oxygen from the lungs and deliver it to all parts of the body. A study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge and Practice regarding
prevention of anaemia among the Adolescent Girls in a selected rural area at Belagavi Karnataka. In this study, 60 samples are selected randomly for them pre-test is for assessing knowledge and Practice. After evaluation pre-test score was showing low knowledge and Practice regarding prevention of anaemia then structured teaching program on knowledge of prevention from anaemia administered after one week post test conducted by using same questionnaire this time Adolescent Girls shows increased knowledge regarding prevention of anaemia and they are following healthy food habits for the prevention of anaemia. Results showing adequate knowledge various methods are used for measuring the variables such as mean, mode, and standard deviation for significance of demographic variables.

. To determine the improvement of knowledge on prevention of Anaemia. among Adolescent Girls.
. To compare pre-test and post-test knowledge regarding anaemia in adolescent girls.
. To provide booklets and video regarding the prevention of anaemia among the Adolescent Girls.
. To assess the post-test knowledge.
. To find out association between knowledge regarding anaemia with selected demographic variables.
Hypothesis: H1: There will be significant difference between mean pre-test and post-test knowledge scores of Adolescent Girls regarding prevention of anaemia.
H2: There will be significant association between the pre-test knowledge of Adolescent Girls regarding prevention of anaemia among and selected demographic variables.
Methods: In the present study, evaluative research approach was selected; Pre experimental one group pretest post-test design was adopted. The structured questionnaire was developed to collect the data. The main study was conducted at Belagavi, Karnataka among 60 Adolescent Girls; Selected by using random sampling technique and descriptive method was used to analyse the data.
Results: The overall pretest mean knowledge score obtained by the Adolescent Girls was 14.82 (49.25%) and the overall post-test mean knowledge score obtained by the Adolescent Girls was 20.65 (68.83%) It means there is significant difference between the pretest and post-test knowledge level of Adolescent Girls regarding the Prevention of Anaemia. Results also shows that there was a statistically significant association between the post-test knowledge score of the Adolescent Girls with demographic variables such as age, education, religion.
Conclusion: The Adolescent Girls age Peoples in this region have good knowledge about anaemia and its prevention but lack of practices also contributes to high prevalence of anaemia.
