Abstract
Bioengineered corneal implants have emerged as a ground breaking solution in ophthalmology, addressing corneal diseases and injuries that are resistant to conventional treatments. By integrating advancements in biomaterials, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine, these implants offer innovative approaches to restoring corneal function and vision. This review explores recent developments in bioengineered corneal implants (7), focusing on advanced biomaterials, stem cell-based strategies, and 3D printing technologies. We will discuss their advantages over traditional treatments, including personalized solutions, sustainability, and effectiveness in addressing a range of corneal conditions. Ongoing research and clinical trials are crucial for validating these innovations and ensuring their clinical application.
