Abstract
The study conducted at Raichur University focused on creating a preliminary checklist of spider diversity. This survey aimed to document and understand the variety of spider species in the area, contributing to the broader knowledge of local biodiversity. The Shannon Diversity Index of 2.49 indicates a moderate level of diversity. This index measures the variety and abundance of species in a community, with higher values indicating greater diversity and evenness. The Simpson's Index of 0.65 reflects the probability that two individuals randomly selected from the sample belong to different species. Higher values indicate more diversity. The Dominance Index of 0.030 suggests low dominance, meaning no single species dominates the community, indicating a balanced ecosystem.
