Abstract
Jammu and Kashmir has been an important educational hub from ancient times. The Teacher Training Institutions in Kashmir have been important centers of imparting teacher training courses to the aspiring student teacher trainees as well as Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes for the newly recruited teachers and in-service teachers. These institutes have contributed immensely for effective teaching-learning discourse at the grass-root level. District Institutes of Education and Training have been the nerve centers for implementing the educational policy at School Education level. The research article presents an over-view of some of the important Teacher Education Institutions in Kashmir Division.
