Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing many sectors wherein computerized processes and artistic inspiration blend well; animation in particular. AI technologies are becoming more and more common in the art field, providing a wealth of benefits for artists in terms of creativity and innovation. Nevertheless, issues and restrictions related to artificial intelligence (AI)-generated art have also surfaced, such as the possible absence of human touch and emotional nuance in comparison to conventional art genres. This study aims to examine how the application of AI affects the existing animating practices and how it contributes to advancing the actual creative practices in the area of animation. Machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and procedural generation are some of the AI technologies animators can use to automate repetitive tasks or even mimic entire styles of animation. Such developments enable artists to concentrate on narrative and idea creation as opposed to being crippled by time-consuming methods. It implies the involvement of AI in producing animated content regardless of the stage it tackles. In pre-production, AI also helps in scriptwriting and storyboarding by coming up with possible plots and visual storyboards. In production, these interactive algorithms are used to animate characters, simulate physics, and generate intricate scenes and backgrounds faster, thus lessening the complex processes. AI is especially useful in post-production since it is skilled at editing, color grading where visual effects are concerned, and fixing sounds. AI enhances the speed of animation, improves the degree of accuracy, and introduces new options. However, manual acting is still a vital aspect of any given story, special when it comes to emotions. In the future developing new sophisticated AI tools that would enable deeper integration and cooperation between animators and artificial intelligence. Advancements in applied AI will provide new possibilities to develop new forms and aesthetics of animation and, at the same time, will respect the very nature of animation as one of the core areas of art that marks people’s creativity.
