Abstract
Physalis minima L., commonly known as wild gooseberry, are a medicinal plant recognized for its diverse therapeutic properties. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the phytochemical composition, antimicrobial, and ant cancerous activities of Physalis minima. Phytochemical analysis reveals the presence of bioactive compounds such as with an olides, flavonoids, and alkaloids, which contribute to the plant's medicinal efficacy. Antimicrobial assays demonstrate significant inhibitory effects against bacterial and fungal pathogens, highlighting the plant's potential as a natural antimicrobial agent. The ant cancerous properties are explored through in vitro studies, where extracts of Physalis minima induce apoptosis and inhibit proliferation in various cancer cell lines, suggesting its promise in cancer therapy. Furthermore, micropropagation techniques are optimized for the mass production and conservation of Physalis minima, ensuring a sustainable supply of this valuable species. DNA barcoding is employed to authenticate the species and differentiate it from related taxa, providing a reliable method for species identification and quality control in herbal medicine.
