Abstract
The researchers assessed the teachers' and parents' perceptions of the effectiveness and challenges of modular distance learning for kindergarten learners at the identified elementary schools in Tacloban City Division, Leyte. It utilized a quantitative research design to determine the effectiveness of the distance learning modality of kindergarten learners at the identified elementary schools. The respondents were the kindergarten teachers and parents in the identified school in Tacloban City, selected using the universal sampling technique. An adapted questionnaire was utilized to gather the data. Data gathered were treated using frequency and percentage, weighted mean, standard deviation, and chi-square. The findings revealed that parents and teachers generally perceive the MDL approach as effective for kindergarten learners despite acknowledging the challenges encountered during its implementation. However, it was also found that these challenges did not significantly differ between the two groups, indicating a shared understanding of the difficulties associated with MD. This underscores the need for school administrators to provide additional support and resources to teachers and parents to help mitigate the challenges related to MDL. This additional support can reassure them that they are not alone in this endeavor, and that together, we can make the MDL approach work effectively for our kindergarten learners.
