Abstract
In India, women’s health suffers disproportionately due to their lower socioeconomic status compared to developed nations. Women’s health is important because she has the responsibility to look after the family primarily. The present study explores the burden of disease on the health of women of Haryana and analyses the impact of age and education on their health status. The foundation of this study relies on secondary data sourced from the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) 4 and 5, encompassing diverse variables including anaemia, body mass index, blood sugar levels, and chronic illnesses (Cervix Cancer). The NFHS-5 indicates 60.4 percent of women are anaemic including 54.6 percent in urban areas and 57.2 percent in rural Haryana. Data from 21,907 women surveyed from Haryana in NFHS-5 and 21,654 in NFHS-4, facilitated by SPYM, were analyzed. The study focused on females aged 15-49, using descriptive statistics charts and tabulation methods.
