Abstract

The rapid integration of digital technologies into higher education has transformed the learning landscape, demanding students to be digitally proficient for success in their academic and professional endeavors. This study aims to comparatively assess the digital proficiency levels of students pursuing higher education in management and law disciplines. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews to gather comprehensive insights.

The quantitative phase involved administering a standardized digital proficiency assessment tool to a representative sample of management and law students. This tool evaluated key digital skills such as information literacy, digital communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. The results were analyzed to identify discipline-specific patterns and overall proficiency levels.

In the qualitative phase, in-depth interviews were conducted with selected participants to explore their perceptions, experiences, and challenges related to digital proficiency. The qualitative data provided a nuanced understanding of how management and law students perceive the importance of digital skills, the impact on their academic performance, and the ways in which they incorporate digital tools into their learning processes.

The study hypothesized that differences in the curriculum, pedagogical approaches, and professional expectations between management and law disciplines may influence the digital proficiency levels of students. By identifying these variations, the research aimed to inform educators, administrators, and policymakers about the specific needs and challenges faced by students in each discipline.

The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the ongoing discourse on digital literacy in higher education, offering insights into how institutions can tailor their educational strategies to enhance the digital proficiency of management and law students. Ultimately, this research seeks to facilitate the development of targeted interventions and curriculum enhancements that better prepare students for the demands of the digital era in their respective fields
