Abstract
The present study highlights the importance of forest tree species from Jaisinghnagar region of (M.P.). Information about the use of medicinal plants was gathered through regular interviews with local practitioners of indigenous medicine, villagers, priests, and tribal communities. The identification of these plants was conducted using recognized monographs and botanical references. This study aims to offer valuable insights into the therapeutic properties of forest trees, enabling the treatment of diseases through herbal remedies that minimize side effects. Trees have long served as vital sources for precursors and products in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, and agrochemicals. Over time, traditional folk medicine has given rise to established practices like Ayurveda in India. In the Jaisinghnagar district of Shahdol (M.P.), India, tribal communities have been utilizing herbal medicines for generations.
