AbstractDr. B.R. Ambedkar’s intellectual legacy and reformist actions significantly contribute to the modern understanding of sustainable development, particularly in the Indian context. His advocacy for social justice, equality, and human rights aligns closely with the social pillar of sustainability, emphasizing the empowerment of marginalized communities through education, legal rights, and social reform. Ambedkar’s economic vision centered on planned development, labour welfare, industrialization, and equitable resource distribution supports the economic dimension of sustainability. His lesser-known but pioneering interventions in water management, irrigation, and environmental protection reflect an early appreciation of ecological sustainability. Through his role in drafting the Indian Constitution, Ambedkar institutionalized principles of justice, dignity, and democratic governance, creating a constitutional framework that supports long-term sustainable development. This paper explores these multidimensional contributions, positioning Ambedkar as a visionary whose ideas continue to guide sustainable and inclusive national development
