Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming modern libraries by enhancing information retrieval, automation, and accessibility, contributing significantly to sustainable development. This study explores AI’s role in library management, digital preservation, and user experience enhancement, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). AI-driven technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and chatbots improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and promote energy-efficient smart libraries. However, AI adoption faces challenges, including financial constraints, ethical concerns, and data privacy issues. Through a comparative analysis of traditional and AI-driven libraries, case studies, and professional insights, this research highlights best practices and recommendations for sustainable AI integration. Findings suggest that AI-powered libraries optimize resources, enhance inclusivity, and ensure long-term sustainability, making them indispensable for the future of knowledge management and digital learning. Addressing policy, training, and infrastructure gaps is crucial for maximizing AI’s potential in library science.
