AbstractThe Government of India's National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 represents a radical change in the country's educational system, with the goal of making it more accessible, holistic, and in line with 21st-century needs. The NEP 2020 has been regarded as a thorough framework that prioritizes critical thinking, creativity, transdisciplinary learning, and technology integration—all of which are very pertinent to the subject of commerce education in India. India's commerce education has historically prioritized the theoretical study of accounting, economics, and business, with little opportunity for hands-on experience or multidisciplinary education.
With its vision for a skills-oriented and flexible curriculum, NEP 2020 seeks to close these gaps by encouraging a curriculum that stresses critical thinking, incorporates technology, and improves experiential learning. The possible effects of NEP 2020 on India's commerce education system are examined in this essay, with particular attention paid to important topics including curricular changes, technological integration, and multidisciplinary education. The study goes on to look at how these adjustments can improve the employability of commerce graduates, make commerce education more relevant in a world economy that is changing quickly, and close the gap between industry demands and academic standards. This study suggests strategies for the effective implementation of the NEP 2020 in commerce education by analyzing the body of existing literature and gathering perspectives from important stakeholders.
