Abstract
Women must be involved in economic activities in order to become financially strong. Employment opportunity creation for all the women is becoming difficult due to increasing population and inflation in the country. As a result, women required appropriate direction and training in order to generate income. The primary goal of this study is to assess the impact of agricultural training through self-help groups (SHGs) on women empowerment. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Bihar’s Katihar District made a basic attempt to enhance SHG members’ knowledge, self-reliance, revenue generating ability, and health by providing agricultural training (garden nutrition, mushroom growing, nursery etc.). A SHG typically comprises 10 to 20 members. These groups strive to stabilize women’s social, economic, and financial situation. In this research, thirty women from different SHG who participated in farm training in KVK have been interviewed. According to the findings, the agricultural training program has active impact on SHG member and is playing a vital role in women’s empowerment. 93.33% of respondents are satisfied with the training program and 73.33% women were able to generate some form of income after the training. Furthermore 80% of respondent are willing to participate in the future training programs.
