Abstract
In contemporary India, the youth are exposed to various psychosocial stressors academic competition, unemployment, identity crises, and digital dependency which often impact their mental health and sense of self-worth. This paper examines how yoga and meditation practices serve as predictors of positive well-being and self-esteem among Indian youth. By reviewing empirical studies, cultural insights, and psychological models, the paper argues that ancient Indian mind-body practices like yoga and meditation are not merely fitness routines but transformative tools fostering emotional regulation, mindfulness, resilience, and self-worth. It also discusses how institutional programs such as school yoga curriculums and university mindfulness campaigns have demonstrated success in cultivating inner stability and psychological growth. The review calls for integration of these traditional practices into mainstream youth mental health strategies.
