Abstract
Yoga, an ancient Indian practice combining physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines, has gained global recognition for its health benefits. This review paper explores the effects of yoga on the mental health of Indian youth, a population increasingly affected by academic stress, unemployment anxiety, peer pressure, and digital overload. The study synthesizes findings from various clinical trials, psychological surveys, and scholarly articles to highlight how yoga practices, including Asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation, help reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and improve overall well-being. In current study we emphasize yoga’s potential as a culturally relevant, cost-effective mental health intervention in India.
