Abstract
For long cannabis or weed is used for medicinal, spiritual and recreational purpose. The paper examines the correlation between weed consumption with meditation, intrapersonal communication, concentration and understanding the cosmos through a mixed method approach. The research investigates the effects of cannabis as a sacred and cognitive tool in meditation, detachment, and the experience of higher consciousness. Although saints called it a holy tool for a person that transcends the distractions of the world, the outcome varies with individuals who use it. Mixed methods show a weak positive correlation (r= 0.19) between cannabis use and meditation quality but moderate negative correlations with intrapersonal communication (r=-0.48) and concentration (r=-0.37). While some people experience heightened cosmic awareness (r=0.32), very often it obstructs self-exploration. The result indicates cannabis's two aspects as a spiritual tool and possible cognitive disruptor.
