Abstract
In this study, the optical properties of chitosan modified with agarose and polyvinyl alcohol at different ratios were investigated. The absorption, absorption coefficient, and attenuation coefficient were examined. After preparation, different ratios of chitosan, polyvinyl alcohol, and agarose were mixed to achieve a 2% weight/volume ratio of the mixture. These thin films of chitosan modified with agarose and polyvinyl alcohol were irradiated using a 532 nm wavelength Nd: YAG laser and heated at different temperatures (75 °C, 100 °C, and 125 °C). The irradiation and varying temperatures affected all the optical properties of the thin films prepared in this research.
