Abstract
Marital adjustment plays a crucial role in the psychological well-being and life satisfaction of married individuals. Among women in India, socio-cultural expectations often complicate the dynamics of marriage. This paper investigates how well-being and self-esteem act as mediators influencing marital adjustment among married women. Drawing from empirical studies, theoretical models like the Bio-psychosocial Model, and cultural analyses, the paper explores how mental health, personal empowerment, and emotional stability impact the quality of marital life. Recommendations for future research, counseling interventions, and policy reforms are discussed to enhance marital satisfaction and promote gender equity in emotional health.
