Abstract
Present study designed to investigate the impact of academic dishonesty and locus of control on emotional regulation as well as the potential interaction between academic dishonesty and locus of control of university students. The study was conducted on a representative sample of 120 university students selected conveniently from Agra city. The data were using the Academic dishonesty scale (Bashir and Bala 2017), Locus of control (Rotter 1966) and the Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (Gross and John 2003). The 2x2 factorial designs were used for the data analysis. The findings indicate that there was a significant effect of academic dishonesty (p<0.05, F= 4.109) on emotional regulation and also significant effect of locus of control on emotional regulation (p<0.05, F = .994). Additionally, there was not significant interaction between academic dishonesty and locus of control on emotional regulation (p>0.05, F= .001). This research study reveals that the higher the academic dishonesty leads to challenging emotional regulation among university students, higher the locus of control lead to challenging emotional regulation among university students and there was no interconnection between academic dishonesty and locus of control among university students.
