Abstract
This article tries to study the impact of the National Food Security Act 2013 by computing the Food Consumption Score of the vulnerable population of Purnia district of Bihar. The frequency-weighted diet diversity score, also known as the “Food Consumption Score” (FCS), is a score calculated based on the frequency of consumption of different food groups by a household over the 7 days preceding the survey. The FCS is calculated by summing the weighted scores of the food groups. Finally, using the appropriate thresholds, the continuous variable score is recorded as a categorical variable score. Both primary and secondary data have been used to obtain the results. The primary data for the consumption frequency of nine food groups from 413 households have been collected to calculate FCS.
