Abstract
Silver nanoparticles (AgNps) were found to be effective antimicrobial agent against pathogenic bacteria isolated from East Kolkata Wetland. In comparison to AgNps prepared by sodium borohydride (AgNpBo) and pyrogallol (AgNPy) the one prepared by sodium citrate (AgNpCi) was found to be very effective in retarding growth of pathogenic bacteria. When AgNpCi was used along with antibiotic ampicillin it was seen that E. coli cells which were ampicillin resistant turned out to be ampicillin sensitive strains. SEM analysis of silver nano particles were done to observe any effect of change of shape of the particles upon addition of different reducing agents.
