Abstract
Pomegranate (Punicarngranatum L.,) is emerging as one of the important fruits of semiarid andrnrainfed areas. Its cultivation is possible even on marginal degraded landsrnearlier found as unsuitable for growing crop. Apart from this, its ability tornwithstand salinity in soil and water to some extent made this crop to emerge asrna hardy fruit crop. The present paper found that suitable high-yieldingrnverities of the crop widely cultivated by Afghanistan, Arabian Peninsula,rnBulgaria, China, Cyprus, Greece, India, Iran, Israel, Malta, Mexico, Spain,rnTunisia, USA and Yugoslavia in the world according to the agro-climaticrnconditions of crop
