AbstractObjectives: To find out the effect of sahaja yog meditation and pranadharna on reaction time ability. (To find out significant difference between adjusted post test means of sahaja yog meditation group and pranadharna group in relation to reaction time).
Methods: Total 90 female university students were selected for the study from Pt. Ravishankar shukla university, Raipur Chhattisgarh, all the students were divided in three different groups i.e. 30 in experimental group-I (Sahaja Yog Group), 30 in experimental group II (Pranadharana Group) & 30 students in control group. Age of the subjects ranged from 17 to 25years. Pre test – post test random group design consisting experiment and control group was used in the study. Sahaj Yog Meditation and Pranadharana practice were conducted for the duration of six weeks. Reaction time data were collected before and after the intervention of training with the help of electronic reaction time apparatus in seconds. Analysis of Covariance was used for the interpretation of data. The level of significant set at 0.05.
Results & Conclusions: Significant effect of Pranadharna was found on reaction time of right hand. On the other hand, significant effect of Sahaja Yog Meditation and Pranadharna was found on reaction time of left hand.
