Abstract
Haemodialysis is “A medical procedure to remove fluid and waste products from the blood and to correct electrolyte imbalances. Improving and prolonging life of such patients is only possible with home care management along with medical treatment.
Purpose: To assess the Knowledge on Home Management of Haemodialysis among patients receiving Haemodialysis.
Objectives: To Assess the Knowledge on Home Management of Haemodialysis among patients Receiving Haemodialysis among Patients Receiving Haemodialysis
Method: Method: This was quantitative descriptive survey study of 60 patients who are receiving Haemodialysis, aged 18-60 years. The patients selected for study were Chronic Kidney Disease patients who were receiving Haemodialysis. The data for study was collected from 23rdOctober 2017 to 1st November 2017. Non- probability convenient sampling technique was used for the selection of patients. To obtain necessary data for the study, the tool used for data collection was assessment of knowledge on Home management of Haemodialysis. The assessment of the knowledge on home management of Haemodialysis was done with the help of structured questionnaire with the survey method.
Results: The assessment of knowledge was carried out and was found that 75% of the samples receiving Haemodialysis had good knowledge on home management of Haemodialysis and 25% of them had average knowledge.
Conclusion: The assessment of knowledge on Home Management of Haemodialysis among patients receiving haemodialysis and suffering from the Chronic Kidney Disease is very much important. This will help to prevent complications and give new idea live life with modification of life style.
