A study to assess knowledge regarding medico legal aspects in care of road traffic accident patient among the nurses selected hospitals of Pune city

Abstract
A descriptive study was conducted among staff nurses working in critical area (ICU, Casualty) from the selected hospitals of Pune city, to assess the knowledge regarding medico legal aspect in care of road traffic accident patient among the nurses. In partial fulfillment of requirement for the B.sc degree in nursing, at the Bharati Vidyapeeth college of nursing Pune, Maharashtra.
The present study investigates knowledge of nurses regarding medico legal aspect by using non probability convenient method.
Responses to the answering of questionnaire covering various knowledge regarding medico legal aspect were obtained in 100 participants.
It was found that, 60% participant had average level knowledge 25% participant good level of knowledge and only 15% participant poor level of knowledge regarding medico legal aspect in care of road traffic accident patient, among the nurses.
Item analysis showed that majority of the nurses had a high score in the area of admission followed by high score is 80%, in the area of medical law staff nurse showed very low score 40% was seen.
