Abstract
Hypoxia is an environmental stressor caused by normally large temporal and spatial variations in oxygen content of water and influences fish behaviour, survival, growth and reproduction. The main goal in this paper is to determine the mass specific metabolic rate (VO2) of C. batrachus and to study the mechanism of adaptation to acute hypoxic periods.
