Abstract
This paper is a mathematical study of the flow of the non-Newtonian fluid, blood through a arterial segment affected by stenosis. The equation that governs the non- Newtonian nature of blood, is the Herschel-Bulkley equation. It is observed that as the amount of stenosis increases, the stenosis height also increased, which in turn leads to constrained flow of blood and increased skin-fiction. In the later part, as a special case, the Newtonian model of blood flow is also presented, this has been executed by taking appropriate value of the fluid index parameter-n.
