Abstract
This research compares
the views of members of Generation Z & Generation X toward psychological
services and looks at how stigma and lack of mental health literacy affect
those views. Despite the importance of mental health literacy in increasing
awareness and access to services, the stigma associated with mental health
continues to be a major deterrent to seeking treatment. By comparing different
generations, this study hopes to provide light on how people of different ages
feel about mental health services and what variables impact people's decisions
to seek treatment. To improve access to mental health services for people of
all ages, we will conduct surveys to gather data, evaluate it to find gaps, and
then implement targeted interventions.
