Plagiarism Prevention Policy
The
International Journal of Applied Research (IJAR) is committed to maintaining honesty and originality in research. Plagiarism is a serious offense, and all authors must follow ethical writing practices. The publisher and editors are not responsible for plagiarism—full responsibility lies with the authors. Plagiarism not only affects research credibility but also damages the trust in scholarly publications. Therefore, strict policies have been set to ensure compliance with ethical research standards.
Plagiarism Definition
Plagiarism means copying words, ideas, images, or data from another source without proper credit. It includes different types of unethical practices:
- Self-plagiarism, where an author reuses their own published work without citing it.
- Copying from other sources, including text, images, tables, or graphs without giving credit.
- Paraphrasing without citation, where an author changes words but does not acknowledge the original source.
- Using data, research findings, or experimental results from another study without permission or proper citation.
Plagiarism in any form is considered academic misconduct, and strict action will be taken against violators.
Plagiarism Detection
Every submitted paper undergoes plagiarism detection software checks. If the similarity percentage is too high, the paper may be rejected or sent back for corrections.
If a publication is made based on inaccurate plagiarism reports generated by plagiarism detection software, the publisher will not be liable or responsible for the error.
Authors are expected to thoroughly review their work before submission and ensure it meets the journal's ethical standards. The responsibility to avoid plagiarism lies with the authors.
The plagiarism reports generated during the evaluation process will be retained by the publisher for at least 30 days after generation of the report. After this period, the reports will be disposed of due to storage management issues.
Proper Citation Requirement
Authors must cite all sources when using direct quotes, paraphrased ideas, or figures from previous studies. Proper attribution ensures research integrity and prevents plagiarism.
Consequences of Plagiarism
- Before publication: The paper may be rejected or sent for revision.
- After publication: The paper will be removed from the journal and shall be considered as withdrawn.
- Serious cases: Authors may be banned from future submissions.
Author’s Responsibility
Authors must ensure their work is original and follows ethical guidelines. All co-authors must confirm the paper adheres to ethical policies. The publisher and editors are not responsible for plagiarism in any manuscript.
